Don't worry, there won't be flannel, or rather, there won't be much flannel.

Little House on the Prairie

This shirt I envision Laura Ingalls wearing as she runs down that grassy hill. Can you hear that theme song start running through your head? Is it weird that I'm so tempted to pair this with a long skirt and throw my hair in two long braids?

Brief aside: photos taken again on Husband's iphone. It's just so easy...

My husband loves taking candid shots of me. This is one of the better ones. My mouth isn't hanging open and my hands aren't flapping in the air.

See the highlighter orange of my nail polish? A customer came into the bank this morning and said: "if I wasn't awake before, I am now after seeing your nail polish." That's right, that's why I wear neon, to wake you all up.

Shirt: thrift store on Iron Street in Negaunee, I don't remember the name of the store :(
Skirt: Maurices
Belt: Forever 21
Tights: Target
Boots: ahh, you all know already

Braid in my hair, quick did this to try and tame my hair because I spent half my morning with my head practically between my knees, trying so hard to do this to my hair and failed. My problem with full on french braids, especially one going up the back of my head, is that, though it's getting longer, underneath, especially at the nape of my neck, my hair is still pretty short. Don't worry, I will try and try again until I get it. Tomorrow. Ah, the promise of tomorrow.

I think it's funny some of the clothes that I'm drawn too. I usually don't buy anything unless I really like it. There is something about it that draws my eye. This shirt is so...not me. It's printed, there's lace on it, the sleeves are big and loose. Yet I had to walk out of the store with it. Maybe the price was right. I don't know. Is there anything you end up wearing or liking and that is totally not what you ever thought you would wear? I continually find myself doing this. In fact, when I look at clothing, especially with my new addiction to going on Vogue and looking through the collections, I can't bring myself to say, "I would never wear that," because, in all likelihood, one day I could. So now, after all my rambling, I say, don't put yourself in a box and say "I would never wear that." Unless it's truly trashy. Then just say no.

  1. Hehe, yup my husband also loves taking candids of me and I'm usually making some absolutely ridiculous face, too funny! ;) And how I love this top & the way that you've styled it here, really pretty. Hope your week is fantastic. xo veronika
