Don't worry, there won't be flannel, or rather, there won't be much flannel.

Vintage Marigold

I've been breaking out my vintage again. I haven't worn any of it in awhile so I've been mixing it up with my new pieces like below.

Rain brings the Mushrooms

I have never seen so much rain fall recently. Yesterday it just kept falling in buckets on and off. I was way more rain than we got in spring. The grass is green and there are mushrooms everywhere. Seriously, clumps of mushrooms everywhere. The only sign that it's actually fall is the withering leaves crunching beneath my feet. Poetic, eh?

Let's go a hay-ridin' and a bar-crawlin' through the corn field

What does one wear to a hay-ride, bar crawl?
This past weekend we hit up just this event in Stephenson and it was so much fun. Due to work my husband and I missed the beginning, which started at noon (we didn't get done until 8:30 at night). We also missed the pumpkin catapult ( sad, right? Maybe next year.), but we still got in a lot of hay-riding and bar crawling.

Back to the question, what to wear at a hay-ride, bar crawl. Jeans and boots was what I thought immediately. As our October has been cold and rainy, my next thought was layers. From the pictures it looks like I'm not wearing many, but under armor is my go to keep-warm layer. And thick socks.

The day turned out to be beautiful and my layers weren't needed. It was the perfect fall day and it was so much fun. The event was actually a fundraiser. At the end was the American Legion where we got a good dinner.

The tracker that pulled our trailer.

Here is some shots from around Stephenson.

Yes, a horse in a bar. There were two girls on horses and they just rode up into the bar, did a circle through and walked out.

The U.P. is God's country. Though, I have no idea where this beer is brewed.

And our choice of beer for the day.

Isn't this a gorgeous house? I think this was in Dagget. There were some gorgeous houses out in that area. Grand, stately affairs which I thought was surprising in farm country.

All in all it was a great day. Probably one of the best Fall days so far this year.

Old Navy

I got to go to Appleton a few weeks ago and I hit up Old Navy. I forgot how much I liked Old Navy. One needs to come to Marquette. It's relatively cheap and great for basics like jeans, shirts, and sweaters. Plus there are so many different colors to choose from. This marigold sweater I loved because its a color you don't see every day. And I've been wanting a red pencil skirt.

Stripes and Mustard

I love these heels I'm wearing in this post. The color is awesome. They aren't extremely high and actually are pretty comfortable. Best find ever. TJ Maxx. Have I talked about that yet? If you don't know yet, Marquette has a TJ Maxx now and it's really nice. I've been in other locations and was never very impressed, but the Marquette location is great. A lot of great women's clothing for great prices.

Also, when we went to TJ Maxx my husband took a detour on a nearby road and I found the perfect spot that I want to live one day. If only a house were actually for sale on it, not that we are looking just yet. The street was quiet with only a few houses on it. Big large yards. Close to town but not in town. Sigh. One day, maybe...

Boxy Red

Is it obvious that I took these photos awhile ago? When it was warm and green? Sigh. I do miss it, yet at the same time I eagerly await the first snowfall.

The boxy look is in this fall and it's a look I never thought I would like. Until I saw my sister wear this jacket and I was jealous. So, now I always say, never rule out anything. There are so many things I've said I would never wear and yet, I find myself at least trying them.
One last note, notice that I've paired the short jacket with a skirt that goes high up on the waist. The high waist balances the shortness of the jacket.

Yellow Blaze

It's Friday. Everyone do a happy dance with me. Anyone have great plans for this weekend? I have nothing, but I'm looking forward to this. Sleeping in, maybe taking a break from homework...Sigh...relaxing.

Layers

The temperature is dropping. Shiver with me...We don't have any heat in our building right now and it's snowing outside. Maybe it's more like sleet, but still, it's effin cold. Yep. However, this happens to be a perfect outfit post.
I really like the layered looks that are coming out this fall. When I saw a dickie in a magazine, I knew, turtlenecks and the like are no longer just for that guy on the Big Bang Theory. So I thought I would try my own version.

Mint Green

Are you all wondering where I've been?
Me, too.

School has been brutal. I've been pulling six hours of homework most nights and even doing homework on Saturday. Saturday! It's a travesty.

But I've got a few outfit photos stored up, though. And look, I finally got mint green pants. I love them. The comfiest pair of pants ever.

Two outfits in one post?! Oh yeah, I'm back with a vengeance. Actually, the outfit below is a similar outfit to the one above, plus I didn't get great pictures of this outfit. I mostly wanted a picture of this car, away.

How sweet is this car?

Primary Colors

What I love about this picture is that my dog is completely ignoring the geese behind him. The geese have been flying south since halfway through August. Depressing, eh? However, today I broke out my boots on campus today. And that's just awesome.

Yesterday started New York Fashion Week. Anyone watching the live shows? I'm so excited to see what the designers have come up with for spring. I'm trying to watch the live-streaming shows, but, unfortunately, they mostly take place during the day when I'm at work. Go here for info and schedules. But Vogue is always there for me. I seriously can't wait to go through the collections look by look. And then pin them. I'm obsessed.

Sunday Cross

This is what I would call a Sunday church outfit. Complete with crucifix. The colors were so bright, I felt I had to take it off and replace it with something more fall color-ish. I did actually.

Again, it's a gentle lead.

He doesn't do a good job posing with me, does he?
